REPLACEMENT INSOLES FOR SHOES YOU STILL LOVE
Worn, flattened or basic factory liners can outlive their usefulness before the shoe itself does. Choose the Handarte replacement that matches your footwear — and the feel you want next.

WHEN THE SHOE IS FINE BUT THE LINER ISN'T
A removable liner can wear differently from the shoe around it. You may not need to replace the whole pair — you may simply need to rethink what sits inside it.
The top layer is polished, rough, peeling or simply no longer feels like it used to.
The shoe still has life. The original foam has compressed and the insert feels thinner or less forgiving than it did when new.
You want softness back. After enough enclosed wear, the old liner no longer feels as fresh as the rest of the shoe deserves.
You want a cleaner-feeling reset.Sometimes nothing is broken. You simply want a more intentional material and feel than the liner that came in the box.
You want an upgrade, not a repair. The replacement starts with one question: what do you want the shoe to feel like next?
THE REPLACEMENT PRINCIPLE
When your shoe has a removable factory insert, take it out first. This usually creates the cleanest space for a full-length replacement.
Keep it slim or add cushioning. Your preference determines which Handarte is the best starting point.
Choose your regular size, check the heel placement and trim the toe slightly if needed.
Replace the liner — not your entire footwear routine.
STILL NOT SURE?
No health questions — just the shoe, available room and the feel you want next.
START WITH WHAT YOU WANT NEXT
On this page, the choice is simple: preserve interior room with Comfort, or add more cushioning with Soft.

A low-profile leather replacement when interior space matters.

Extra natural-latex cushioning for shoes with room for a fuller replacement.
OR START WITH THE SHOE
Slimmer construction helps preserve interior room.

See Comfort →Extra cushioning is a natural match when there is enough room.
See Soft →Cushion-first replacement works well when you want a softer, fuller step.
See Soft →Roomier boots usually handle a fuller cushioned replacement better.

See Comfort →Shoe interiors vary by brand and model. Always check that your foot still has comfortable room after replacing the liner.

FOR THIN FACTORY LINERS
When a dress shoe, loafer or lower-volume casual shoe already fits closely, replacement thickness matters. Comfort is the slimmer option, pairing vegetable-tanned goat leather with an active-carbon latex base.

FOR FLATTENED OR BASIC CUSHIONING
Soft takes replacement in a different direction: vegetable-tanned leather on top and a fuller natural-latex cushioning layer underneath.

FIT IT THE RIGHT WAY
For full-length replacement insoles, the cleanest setup usually starts by removing the existing removable insert rather than stacking two full-length insoles.
Lift the heel and remove the original insert if it is designed to come out.
Place the old liner next to Handarte to judge overall length and toe shape.
Start with your regular shoe size. If between sizes, choose the larger option.
If the toe is slightly long, trim a small amount at a time.
Place the heel flat against the back of the shoe, then smooth forward.
Your toes and forefoot should still have comfortable room.
Remove the original liner, then place Handarte directly inside the shoe. This usually gives the cleanest fit and avoids unnecessary stacking.
RECOMMENDED SETUPHandarte's current models are full-length. If the original footbed is fixed, adding another full-length insert may make some shoes too tight. Do not force a replacement into footwear that loses comfortable toe or forefoot room.
REPLACE MORE THAN WORN FOAM
The replacement decision is also a chance to change the surface and cushioning materials inside the shoe.
Vegetable-tanned leather creates a more premium, breathable in-shoe surface.
Comfort stays slimmer. Soft uses fuller natural latex when you want a softer feel underfoot.

Breathable, moisture-focused materials are built into both models.

REPLACEMENT QUESTIONS

If the original liner is removable, yes. Removing it first usually creates the cleanest fit and avoids stacking two full-length insoles.

Comfort is the best starting point because it is the slimmer Handarte option for footwear where interior space matters.
Soft is the best starting point when you want a fuller, softer replacement and the shoe has enough room. Comfort works better when you want to keep bulk lower.
Soft is usually the better starting point because boots often have enough room for a fuller cushioned replacement. Comfort is the slimmer fallback when interior space is tighter.
Check space carefully before adding another full-length layer. Do not force an insert into a shoe that becomes too tight.
That is generally not preferred when the old insert is removable. Removing it helps avoid unnecessary bulk.
